27/04/09 Sounds New Festival

The Sounds New Festival is underway again with two events involving Blast Creative music completed. Chatham House school performed an orginal work writen by them in Canterbury Cathederal. The piece was inspired by the Polish artist Topolski. Three primary schools from the Canterbury area performed new works, created by themselves, in St Peters Church, Canterbury.

27/03/09 Valley of Visions

Together with artist Will Glanfield we will be working with children from the Medway Gap area in Kent to record sounds and images from their local environment to create a DVD and booklet. This is part of the larger Valley of Visions project aimed at highlighting and promoting this much overlooked part of Kent. More info to follow.....

15/01/09 Sounds New Festival 2009

We continue our work with the Sounds New Festival this year with two projects. The first will involve us working with students from Chatham House School, helping them create a new composition based on the art of the polish born artist Topolski. The second sees us in an advisory capacity assisting four primary schools create and perform original compositions as part of the festival.

The next Fuze event will be on friday 23rd January featuring, as ever, four of the best young bands that the area has to offer!!. Contact us for more info.

19/12/08 Deal Festival 2009

As part of the Deal Festival 2009, we will be involved in organising a guitar day culminating in an evening performance by John Williams and John Etheridge. The event is set for 17th July 2009.

30/11/08 Fuze Live Event

The latest Fuze event will be on friday 12th December featuring four up and coming bands from Kent. Contact us for more info.

11/10/08 Quickpick School

A number of schools in Kent have strted using Quickpick Express Guitar as part of their instrumental lessons. The schools include The Abbey School Faversham and Folkestone Academy.

08/09/08 Fuze Live Event

Friday 5th September saw the first live event to be organised by Fuze, an organisation set up to promote young bands performing live. Blast Creative Music worked with three of the bands prior to the event. The evening was a great success with all bands perfoming excellently and a good audience turn out. Well done to all involved! 22/08/08 Quickpick Guitar Tutor Book

Blast Creative Music's first major publication 'Beginning Quickpick Express Guitar' is due for release on the 1st of September 2008. Watch this space for more details!

13/07/08 Deal Festival 2008

As part of the Deal Festival 2008, Juice performed Full Fathom Five, an original work created for them as part of an education project involving Stephen Clee and students from Dover Grammar School for Girls. Download the performance for free from our online shop.

11/07/08 Nature of Change Videos

Examples of videos created as part of the Nature of Change project can now be viewed at education page.

28/06/08 Fuze Auditions

Audition tooks place on friday 27th for the Fuze project. Seven bands took part with three going forward to play at the first Fuze event to take place in late July. Click here for more info Fuze

23/05/08 Johannes Möller

The Swedish guitarist Johannes Möller gave an excellent performance of Stephen Clee's work for solo guitar 'From Dusk till Dawn' as part of his recital at Keynes college at UKC. Some of the performance is available to listen to on our composing page.

14/05/08 Deal Festival 2008

This years festival will again see us collaborating with Dover Grammar School for Girls working with year 10 students to write for the vocal ensemble Juice.

01/05/08 The Nature of Change

The Nature of Change exhibition special viewing took place on Saturday 26th April with over 100 attending. The event was a great success for all involved with an excellent response from those who attended and from the press coverage. Further details are available on our education page.

The Nature of Change exhibition will be running from the 26th April to 14 June with a Special viewing for all involved on the 26th April. Further details are available on our education page.

10/03/08 Sounds New Festival 2008 - Birdsong

The Birdsong project has now been completed with an exceptional performance from all the schools involved and from soloist Evan Parker. Further details are available on our education page.
